Advice from Current Students

There’s more to education than attending class. Our strong sense of community at FVCC means you’ll feel welcomed, guided and challenged as you gain confidence and develop close, long-lasting friendships with students as well as staff.

Get Involved
Student David Crismore acts and assists in producing FVCC theatre productions and serves as Student Senate vice president. His advice? “FVCC eases you into college life. Try to get involved in activities so you have something to do besides classes and work. I have more friends than I can even count. FVCC is a family, really.”
David Crismore, AA, Bigfork, Montana

Seek Help
“If you’re having trouble, you can talk to your instructors during or after class. I didn’t even finish high school. I earned my GED at FVCC. I never thought I was going to college. The FVCC faculty have made it a very positive experience for me.”
Travis Erickson, AA, Libby, Montana

Take Time to Get Prepared
“Because of the smaller classrooms and the attitude of the advisors and your instructors, you learn more. And you’re also better prepared to go to a university. Some people go to a university and drop out after the first semester because it’s too overwhelming. I’ve seen youth do it. I’ve seen adults do it. And I think FVCC really does help prepare you to get a higher education in the long run, because of the informal atmosphere that’s at FVCC.”
