The goal of TRiO programs is to overcome financial, class, social and cultural barriers to higher education and to increase access and success for low-income, first generation, and students with disabilities through awareness, advocacy and academic support. The TRiO/SSS program assists eligible college students to succeed and earn a certificate or degree. Services include:
- Academic, career, transfer advising and personal counseling
- Classes and labs to build skills in math, reading and writing
- Individual and group tutoring to foster academic success
- Transition to college classes
- Disabilities Services
- Financial Aid/Scholarship Information
- Veterans support
At FVCC, the TRiO/SSS program serves 350 students per academic year with a budget of $323,238.

The TRiO/EOC program caters to individuals who are no longer in school but want to pursue high school, GED/HiSet or college diplomas. The EOC encourages individual to return to high school or enter college by providing:
- Career guidance
- Academic advising
- Financial aid assistance
- College application
- Linkages to other agencies providing assistance.
