The members of the Flathead Valley Community College Foundation Board of Directors, selected from throughout the Flathead Valley and Lincoln County, are committed to providing a quality educational experience in state-of-the-art classrooms. The Foundation made scholarship endowment a priority and in 2006-2007, awarded $214,699 to 212 students.
The Flathead Valley Community College Foundation:
- Founded in 1976 to provide a focused effort to encourage private sector support for the college
- Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, comprised of community leaders
- Accepts and manages donations from private and corporate donors
- Hosts Christmas Tree Excellence and Festival of Flavors, two fundraising events for the community
- Guides tours of the Bibler Home and Gardens with proceeds going to support student scholarships. Spring tours are held in May and summer tours in July.
Donations to the Foundation support a diverse mix of important needs including:
- Scholarships for qualified and deserving students
- Equipment and resources for classrooms and labs
- Enhanced support services that foster student success and retention
- Special programs for the college’s and community’s benefit
