Types of Financial Aid

You do have the option to pay the interest while in school. If you do not make interest payments, the interest will be capitalized. In other words, the interest will be added to the principal amount of your loan, and the additional interest will be based on that higher amount.

The maximum base loan amount awarded is determined by the number of earned credits.

  • Freshman  0-29 earned credits  $3500
  • Sophomore*  30 earned credits  $4500

*Students in Certificate Programs are considered Freshman regardless of credits earned.

Independent Students may be eligible for up to an additional $6000 in unsubsidized loan funds.

Dependent Students may be eligible for up to an additional $2000 in unsubsidized loan funds.
