Work Study Checklist
AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN AWARDED AND YOU HAVE ACCEPTED A WORK-STUDY AWARD, the following is the process for obtaining a work-study job.
- Look at the job postings. Open positions will be available here. Also look for new positions advertised on our bulletin board outside the Financial Aid Office.
- Take a Referral Slip for each job that you are interested in and plan to interview/apply for. Complete the Referral Slip with the required information including your name and phone number.
- Schedule an interview for the jobs that interest you. When you and a supervisor have agreed upon your employment, ask the supervisor to sign the Referral Slip.
- Bring the signed Referral Slip to the Financial Aid Office and pick up the required I-9, W-4 and a confidentiality statement.
- Complete the I-9 and W-4 forms and bring them to the Financial Aid Office to have Nancy or someone in the office verify the I-9 documents (driver’s license & social security card or a passport). You will also be required to sign a confidentiality statement.
- 6. Once the I-9, W-4 and signed confidentiality statement has been received in the Financial Aid Office, you will receive the Work-Study Contract.
AFTER YOU AND YOUR SUPERVISOR HAVE SIGNED THE CONTRACT AND RETURNED THE ORIGINAL TO THE FINANCIAL AID OFFICE, YOU MAY START WORK!
