Work Study Checklist

AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN AWARDED AND YOU HAVE ACCEPTED A WORK-STUDY AWARD, the following is the process for obtaining a work-study job.

  1. Look at the job postings. Open positions will be available here.  Also look for new positions advertised on our bulletin board outside the Financial Aid Office.
  2. Take a Referral Slip for each job that you are interested in and plan to interview/apply for. Complete the Referral Slip with the required information including your name and phone number.
  3. Schedule an interview for the jobs that interest you. When you and a supervisor have agreed upon your employment, ask the supervisor to sign the Referral Slip.
  4. Bring the signed Referral Slip to the Financial Aid Office and pick up the required I-9, W-4 and a confidentiality statement.
  5. Complete the I-9 and W-4 forms and bring them to the Financial Aid Office to have Nancy or someone in the office verify the I-9 documents (driver’s license & social security card or a passport). You will also be required to sign a confidentiality statement.
  6. 6. Once the I-9, W-4 and signed confidentiality statement has been received in the Financial Aid Office, you will receive the Work-Study Contract.

AFTER YOU AND YOUR SUPERVISOR HAVE SIGNED THE CONTRACT AND RETURNED THE ORIGINAL TO THE FINANCIAL AID OFFICE, YOU MAY START WORK!
