Study Abroad
Sharing Culture through Education
The study abroad program at FVCC invites students to study internationally. Short term (3-6 weeks) and full semester abroad trips are offered. These cultural immersion programs provide our students with a learning opportunity of a lifetime from various destinations around the world. Some of our trips have included exploring ancient Inca ruins in Peru, trekking the magnificent Himalayan mountain region in Nepal, discovering some of the world’s finest art in Venice, or attending various Hindu festivals in Bali, Indonesia. All study abroad trips offer classes that enhance the cultural experience, such as language, social psychology, comparative religion, anthropology, numerous art classes, history, photography and so much more. The FVCC Study Abroad Program welcomes in-state and out of state students to attend our cultural trips. FVCC is an official member of NASFA: National Association of International Educators, holding the highest standards of safety and academic excellence across the globe. As our world becomes more interconnected and intimate, the necessity of study abroad has never been greater for American students. International academic experiences have become an invaluable asset in today’s job market, while opening new doors of possibilities for the future. These trips are continuously described as “life changing” for each participant. How those changes manifest in each student’s path is a never ending process.
“There are thousands of other cultures and they all work pretty well. It is a source of hope. It shows there are many different ways to live; reaching our goals and dreams.”
