Math and Science Division

Education in mathematics and sciences provides our students with the scientific and analytical methods of thinking and means of exploration to understand the world in which we live. Course work provides students with a thorough grounding in the natural sciences and mathematics.

All courses in this category focus on identified classical mathematical concepts and modern techniques of mathematical thought and critical reasoning. The mathematics transfer program is designed to prepare students for transfer to a four-year institution where they can generally choose among several options.

Additionally, an understanding of the methods of scientific inquiry, a firm grasp of the fundamental principles and knowledge accepted in the natural sciences, and an appreciation of the past, present and future impacts of science on the human condition are essential.
