Surgical Technologists are integral members of the surgical team, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses and other surgical personnel in delivering patient care before, during, and after surgery. This is a physically demanding job that requires standing for extended periods of time and the ability to lift and move heavy objects. It requires the ability to work with a team of professionals under possible emergency situations. Attention must be focused with a commitment to detail. The surgical technologist may be exposed to communicable diseases, unpleasant sights, odors and hazardous materials.
