Peru Cultural Immersion Experience

"Trip to the Sacred Valley"  August 7-22, 2009

FVCC will present its third cultural immersion experience in the Sacred Valley of Peru this August.  The two-week academic adventure will take place in the village of Urubamba outside of Cusco, Peru.

Participating students will have the opportunity to earn up to 12 credits while participating in a number of activities including exploring significant Inca ruins, visiting Indian Artisan market, sightseeing in the city of Cusco, touring Machu Picchu, staying in a local home on Lake Titicaca and visiting Lima, the capitol of Peru.

Course Information

FVCC students and non-students are welcome to participate in the program.

  • ANTH 180 Culture of Peru (3 cr.) is required to participate.

The following courses are electives:

  • IDS 180 Multiculturalism and Global Diversity (1 cr.)
  • LANG 121 Spanish I (5 cr.) *
  • ART 154F Digital Photography (3 cr.)*

* Course begins June 25.

Space in the program is limited.  The total cost of the trip is $3,000, and tuition and fees for the FVCC courses are not included in the travel fees.  Information packets on itinerary, courses and accommodations are available by calling 756-3945.
