Summary
The History Instructor at Flathead Valley Community College is a full time, tenure track position within the Division of the Social Sciences. Primary responsibilities include teaching principles level courses, generally 100 to 200 level in nature, to a diverse student population. Good communication and teaching skills are essential, as well as the ability to serve on committees for the Division and the College. As part of the teaching function, the successful candidate is responsible for student advising and mentoring as well.
Candidates should possess the ability to teach using a variety of instructional modalities, including the use of educational technology and online instruction.
Candidates are expected to perform other duties expected of a full-time faculty member as specified in the FVCC contract, such as serving on appropriate departmental and college committees, participating in recruitment and retention activities, and contributing to the department’s curriculum development efforts. It is expected the candidate exhibit professional demeanor, good communication skills, interpersonal skills and demonstrated teaching skills, and have the ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse background.

Nine months salary ranging from $29,518 - $66,185 based on education and experience. Extra service and summer compensation possibilities are in addition to 9-month contract. (Comprehensive benefits package). Official transcripts will be required.
