Life Insurance/Accidental Death & Dismemberment
The Standard Insurance Company is the administrator for Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment for the MUS Choices Benefit Plan. Life insurance under the MUS Choices Benefits Plan pays benefits to your beneficiary or beneficiaries if you die from most causes while coverage is in effect.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage adds low-cost accidental death protection by paying benefits in the event of your death due to accidental causes. Full or partial AD&D benefits are also payable to you following certain serious accidental injuries. The default is $10,000 or $20,000 in term insurance; however you may choose optional employee and dependent coverage in amounts up to $200,000.
