Flathead Valley Community College has extended the application deadline for its fall 2014 paramedicine program to July 31 at 5 p.m. The two-year professional degree program includes both classroom and hands-on training and prepares students for careers in pre-hospital emergency medical care. Students who complete the program will be prepared to take the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic practical and written certification examinations. Upon passing the examinations, students will be eligible to apply for paramedic licensure through the Montana Board of Medical Examiners.

Candidates are required to have valid Montana EMT – B licenses and current personal health insurance policies. Candidates also are required to pass an entrance examination and screening process and are subject to comprehensive background checks.
