FVCC Extends Fall 2014 Paramedicine Application Deadline

Flathead Valley Community College has extended the application deadline for its fall 2014 paramedicine program to July 31 at 5 p.m. The two-year professional degree program includes both classroom and hands-on training and prepares students for careers in pre-hospital emergency medical care.  Students who complete the program will be prepared to take the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic practical and written certification examinations. Upon passing the examinations, students will be eligible to apply for paramedic licensure through the Montana Board of Medical Examiners.

Space in the program is limited. In order to apply for the program, entry-level course prerequisites are required to be completed or in the process of being completed. Candidates are required to have valid Montana EMT – B licenses and current personal health insurance policies. Candidates also are required to pass an entrance examination and screening process and are subject to comprehensive background checks.

Applications are available online at www.fvcc.edu/paramedic, in the college’s Admissions Office in Blake Hall, by calling 756-4364 or outside room 126-D in Rebecca Chaney Broussard Center for Nursing and Health Science on the FVCC campus.
