The Montana Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network is holding its fifth annual Invest in Success Montana Small Business Conference on April 16 and 17 at Montana Tech in Butte.
This conference has been specifically designed to provide small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to enhance their financial, managerial and technical skills while connecting with resource providers and networking with other small businesses from across the state.
Northwest Montana Small Business Development Center Director John Balsam said the conference is a great resource for local small businesses.
“This is a great opportunity for local businesses to gain information that will help take their businesses to the next level,” said Balsam. “The action-packed agenda will provide success strategies as well as valuable tools and resources small business owners may not know they have access to.”
The keynote speaker will be Patrick Schwerdtfeger, author of the award-winning book, “Marketing Shortcuts for the Self-Employed,” as well as “Webify Your Business: Internet Marketing Secrets for the Self-Employed and Make Yourself Useful: Marketing in the 21st Century.” Schwerdtfeger has been featured by the New York Times, the LA Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, CNN Money, Fortune, Bloomberg Businessweek, MONEY Magazine and Forbes, among many others. In addition, he spoke on the topic of Global Megan Trends at the 18th annual GCC eGovernment & eServices Conference in Dubai (May 2012) and has contributed to other innovation and leadership events across the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe and India. He is best known for his motivational keynote describing the social media revolution and its impact on consumer behavior and market leadership.
Breakout sessions during the conference will include Leadership Flexibility, Health Care Reform and You, The Truth About Marketing and Technology: How to Blog, Wind to Tweet, What to Post, and Why Use YouTube, Valuation Considerations when Buying or Selling your Business, Using Emotional Intelligence for Effective Business Communication, Planning for Profitability, and many others.
