In partnership with Community Action Partnership, Flathead Valley Community College will provide low-to-moderate income individuals, families, and senior citizens free tax assistance and preparation through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program from February 7 through April 12.
Taxes are prepared by Flathead area volunteers who have trained to become Internal Revenue Service certified tax preparers. Tax preparations are being conducted on a walk-in basis Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in room 236 inside the Arts and Technology Building on the FVCC campus. Electronic filing and direct deposit services are available.
Community members are asked to provide photo identification, W-2 and 1099 forms, Social Security cards for all family members or dependents being claimed, last year’s tax returns, checking and savings account numbers, records of additional income, childcare provider’s tax identification numbers, and all other tax documents.
