FVCC Hosts Veterans Upward Bound Orientation and Information Session for Free College Prep Courses

Flathead Valley Community College’s Continuing Education Center will welcome potential and registered Veterans Upward Bound students for an orientation September 30.   Three courses, including Introduction to Computers, Introduction to College Math and Algebra and Introduction to College Writing and Grammar Review, will be offered free of charge to eligible veterans this fall beginning the week of October 7.

Veteran’s Upward Bound is a U.S. Department of Education program designed to help military veterans refresh their academic skills so they can successfully complete postsecondary education.

The orientation will take place at 5 p.m. in room 202 inside the Arts and Technology building on campus.  Interested veterans are encouraged to attend to learn more about courses offered, meet the instructor and become familiar with the campus.  For more information, contact Leslie Beard at 756-3840 or at lbeard@fvcc.edu.  To register for the classes, contact the Center for Veteran’s Education and Training Services at 1-877-356-8387, or visit www.vubmt.com.
