Nearly 70 students from Flathead Valley Community College presented their research projects to the community December 7 during the college’s Fall Semester Scholars Conference on Student Research.
Twenty student presentations were delivered and more than 30 research posters were showcased during the event. Project topics ranged widely in such categories as anatomy and physiology, anthropology, business, chemistry, ethics, history, natural resources, nursing, physics, and psychology.
Presentation winners and their research topics included:
First Place: Laira Fonner – Traumatic Brain Injuries;
Second Place: Tanner Morrison – Human Cloning; and
Third Place: Zack Alexander, Emily Church, Courtney Brockman, and Cynthia Frech – Origins of Language, Religion, and Music.
Poster winners and their research topics included:
First Place: Andrew Hart – Small Batch Solutions to Sustainability;
Second Place: Stephanie Christensen – Neurological and Genetic Origins of Language and Religion; and
Third Place: Heather Fraley – Too Old to have a Baby.
