Flathead Valley Community College’s Multicultural Affairs Office will offer a free community lecture on Irish castles on July 24.
Today’s Irish landscape boasts remains of old castles. Some are simply ruins, while others have been restored as tourist attractions. Many of the structures were originally fortresses, while others were fortified manors or tall houses.
During the presentation, FVCC archaeology instructor Dr. E.B. Eiselein will talk about the history of Irish castles and discuss some of the castles he surveyed during his recent trip to Ireland.
Free and open to the public, the lecture will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the large community meeting room inside the Arts and Technology Building on the college campus. For more information, contact Mick Stemborski at 756-3945 or at email@example.com.
