FVCC Offers Free College Preparation Opportunities for Veterans

Area veterans may take advantage of free training through the Continuing Education Center at Flathead Valley Community College.  Veterans Upward Bound, a program through the U.S. Department of Education, sponsors free courses designed to help military veterans refresh their academic skills.

New this spring, a Veterans Upward Bound informational open house will provide the opportunity for veterans, whether already registered for courses or just interested in learning more about the program, the opportunity to visit the campus, see the classrooms, and meet the instructors.   Open to the public, the open house will take place January 25 from 5 – 6 p.m. in room 208 in the Arts and Technology Building on the FVCC campus.

Courses available during the spring semester include “Introduction to Computers,” “Introduction to College Writing and Grammar,” and “Introduction to College Math and Algebra.”   Courses are offered in the early evenings and are held in the Arts and Technology Building on the FVCC campus.

For specific class details or information about the open house, contact the FVCC Continuing Education Center at 756-3832.  To register for courses, contact the Center for Veteran’s Education and Training Services at 877-356-8387 (VETS) or visit www.vubmt.com.
