Flathead Valley Community College Theatre will hold auditions September 5 and 6 for its winter production of “Annie: The Musical.” The production will be performed December 2-4 and 8-10.
Based on the “Little Orphan Annie” comic strip which debuted in 1924 and ran for over 80 years, “Annie: The Musical” is set in the Depression Era in New York City and became one of the biggest Broadway musical hits of the 1970s, running for almost six years and playing more than 2,300 performances. The musical is a winner of seven Tony Awards, the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, seven Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical, and a Grammy Award for Best Cast Show Album.
FVCC Theatre’s cast will consist of over 20 actors including eight female orphans between the ages of 7 and 13. Singing, acting and dancing auditions will take place both evenings. In addition, interviews for orchestra roles including bass, cello, violin, drums, piano, keyboard, percussion, woodwind, trombone, trumpet, tuba and guitar will take place at both evening auditions.
Auditions will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. in the FVCC Theatre inside the Arts and Technology Building on the FVCC campus. Auditions are open to the public, and acting experience is not required.
