FVCC Invites Community to Become Registered Donors Through Donate Life Challenge

Donate Life Today Challenge Ends Saturday

Flathead Valley Community College Campus Corps invites students, faculty, staff and community members to register as organ, eye and tissue donors through the Donate Life Today Challenge, a statewide initiative sponsored by the Governor’s Office of Community Service, the Donate Life Today Registry and Montana Campus Corps.

More than 1,600 residents in the Northwest are currently in need of life-saving organ transplants.  In 2010, 52 lives were saved by 19 Montana organ donors, and 210 Montanans are currently waiting for organ transplants.

Nineteen college campuses in Montana are participating in the effort which ends April 30.  The college that registers the most donors in their category by Saturday will receive a $150 prize.  Last year, FVCC took second in the medium-sized campus category following The University of Montana-Western.
