Flathead Valley Community College is offering the newly updated Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM®) “Essentials of Human Resource Management” course April 5 and 6. Ideal for small business owners or individuals new to the human resources field, the workshop will focus on key topics and management practices related to the latest developments in human resources.
Facilitated by FVCC Executive Director, Human Resources Warren Tolley, the workshop will cover topics ranging from recruitment and selection techniques, compensation and benefits basics and employment law to employee development and performance management. Tolley is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources with SHRM and has over 20 years of human resources and organizational development experience from multiple industries and several regions of the United States and Canada.
Each participant will receive a full set of SHRM® educational materials and earn 1.5 continuing education units or earn 15 Professional in Human Resources/Senior Professional in Human Resources/Global Professional in Human Resources recertification hours and a certificate upon completion.
The workshop is offered in partnership by the college’s Continuing Education Center and SHRM and will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost to attend is $450, and preregistration is required.
