The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) will continue to provide low-to-moderate income individuals, families and senior citizens free tax assistance and preparation Fridays and Saturdays at Flathead Valley Community College through April 15.
Taxes are prepared by Flathead area volunteers who have trained to become Internal Revenue Service certified tax preparers. Tax preparations are being conducted Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Arts and Technology Building on the FVCC campus. Electronic filing and direct deposit services are available.
Community members are asked to provide photo identification, W-2 and 1099 forms, Social Security cards for all family members or dependents being claimed, last year’s tax return, checking and savings account numbers, records of additional income, childcare provider’s tax identification number and all other tax documents.
